Mother's day is coming, and so is the gift-hunting season (although in America every season is a gift-hunting season).
It's a busy time of the year for Vie de Vic. Mother's Day coincides with the beginning of the wedding season, generating a high demand for for custom art. The great thing about working with customized pieces is that it takes some thoughtfulness for someone to become a client - people need an idea to come to us (they don't necessarily need one, but they usually come with many of them).
Last week I met a few great folks at a reporter bootcamp (yes, a reporter bootcamp, and no, I'm not a reporter). After an ice-breaker activity where we had to tell each other about our hobbies and passions (and I obviously mentioned Vie de Vic as my biggest passion), one of my colleagues asked me if I would paint a portrait of his family so he would give it to his wife as a mother's day gift.
That same day, he placed the order and sent me many nice family pictures. He specifically asked for his family to be portrayed jumping at the beach, just like on a few pictures he sent me. The result is above: four fun, happy people. Can't wait to hear about his wife's reaction once she receives it.
Happy Mother's Day to all moms out there. You deserve to feel special!
